Store History & Background:
Woolworths opened in High Road, North Finchley, London N12 on 17th September 1927. It was extended on 25th July 1931. The store closed for six months in 1977 for remedial works from 27th May until 17th November when it opened after a facelift. The store was converted to the convenience concept on 21st October 1988. (From World War II until the Kingfisher takeover there were actually three Woolworths stores in Finchley, with branches in Ballards Lane (No. 0727) and Finchley Road (No. 0713)
