Store History & Background:
Opened on 11th September 1926 and extended in 1952 (reopening on 8th December) and in 1964 when the store was reskinned to make it look more modern and had a second rear entrance installed, it reopened on 12th March, and was fully refurbished in 1978 (reopening on 7th May). It was relayed to the comparison concept in September 1986 (reopening on 9th) and refurbished on 14th June 1989. It was updated to the latest 10/10 specification after demerger.
