Woolworths first opened in Marygate, Berwick upon Tweed on 28th August 1926, moving along the road to the current premises (nearer to the bus station) on 19th March 1937. The store was extended in 1961 with work completing on 8th December and ware refurbished on 7th May 1978 and 19th March 1993. It was upgraded to the latest 10/10 specification after demerger.
