Author Paul Seaton waxes lyrical as a guest on "Shopping for England" from BBC4's The Edwardians series

This website, along with its partner the Woolworths Virtual Museum, was created by Paul Seaton, who works in IT at HO.

Paul is a Woolies fanatic and owns most of the products and other assets shown on the site.

Technology ...

The website and digital assets were assembled using Adobe Creative Suite 3. The navigation is Java-based and was built using the Spry framework. High resolution Photoshop PSD or Adobe PDF versions of the pictures are available; the pictures on the site have been scaled down to smaller sizes but have been kept sharp rather than compressing them to the same degree as in the Virtual Museum.

Video material on the site is in Adobe Flash files, with some elements available either as Apple QuickTime movies or formatted for Realplayer for maximum flexibility. All are available on DVD at full screen, full frame rate in Dolby digital. The search engine is a web-spider type and is powered by Zoom Professional from Wrensoft.

3d and 6d Pictures is the virtual production company behind Paul's films and original photographs. These are shot on Canon XL1-S digital equipment and edited in Adbobe Creative Suite 3. The voice of "Mr. Woolworth", which features in a number of Paul's films is actually famous voiceover and former Radio 1 DJ Pete Drummond, who is also the voice behind many TV adverts and continuity pieces.
